Bob and Gert Munro were married in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1946. After migrating to Australia they settled in Canberra and worked in the Public Service for many years.

Bob lost his wife Gertrude from cancer in 1985 and, in his will he created the Bob and Gert Munro Memorial Fund.

Bob directed that his capital be invested through the Capital Region Community Foundation (Greatergood) and the income distributed to the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia in perpetuity.

In doing this, Bob established a lasting memorial to his wife.

Sadly in June 2006, Robert Munro died. Now he and his wife will be remembered forever.
